Effective Case Management Strategies: How to Build a Working Relationship with Your Client

Description: Participants in this training will learn effective case management skills. Skills such as reflective listening, productive engagement, and building a healthy client relationship will be explored. We will discuss barriers and challenges associated with client motivation and goal attainment. Miller and Rollnick’s Motivational Interviewing and Prochaska’s Stages of Changes will be discussed. This is an interactive workshop; therefore, case examples and role plays will be included.


Objectives:
At the end of this session, learners will be able to:

  • Demonstrate effective strategies in creating a working alliance with clients.
  • Identify ways mental health counselors can utilize engagement strategies with clients.
  • Identify ways mental health counselors can use Motivational Interviewing and Prochska’s Stages of Change in order to mobilize client goals.
